After a sold-out inaugural event, Source Canada is returning October 22 in an expanded format. Early bird tickets are now available.
Over the last year there has been real progress on the Buy Canadian front, driven mostly by government policy and defence budgets. But in spite of some big wins by Canadian innovators, procurement headwinds remain. The culture of “no” is holding back innovation at the moment Canada needs it most.
Building on its successful “trade mission” format, Source Canada will bring together Canadian innovators, corporate and government buyers, and investors to meet face to face, accelerate dealmaking and tackle the problem of startups finding their first customers at home instead of abroad.
The 2026 edition has two tracks: Defence and Sovereign Technology.
The Defence track is supported by The Icebreaker, the Alliance of Canadian Defence Companies, Vimy Forge and others. It will focus on helping the emerging generation of defence tech startups to go from idea to contract.
The Sovereign Technology track is focused on startups in AI, quantum computing, cybersecurity and deeptech, and is presented by Qohash and supported by the Council of Canadian Innovators.

Both tracks address common themes: procurement velocity, procurement readiness, developing export markets and how to adequately fund Canadian innovators.
